I have a rare, genetic, neuromuscular disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Despite all the challenges this brings, I still live a full life, have a masters degree, great friends, a good job and pretty much everything a ‘healthy’ person has (beating the odds as I go along)
In 2001 I started as an IT specilist for CGI (formerly Logica) and have been enjoying my time there ever since. I currently live on my own in a great part of Rotterdam
When I'm not at work, I really love to watch formula1 and movies and series. When the weather is nice, I go for a 'walk' in my neighborhood or have a drink in the sun with friends. In the summer I also try to go to at least one multi day Rock Festival
I came into contact with computers and programming in an early age. I recognized it as a world where I wasn't hindered by my disability. Here I can let my creativity run free and create things that can aide me in the real world. During those rainy days, I just put some nice music in the background and work on one of my pet-projects or simply immerse myself into a virtual world online.
